David McKienzie, 2026

He was a three-time High School All-American at Huntington Beach HS before the 6-4 hitter moved onto Long Beach State from 1998-2001 and made the LBSU Hall of Honor in 2017. He was a three-time VB All-American and led the Beach to the 1999 NCAA finals. He set the NCAA record with 58 kills against #1 ranked BYU in 1999, which still exists today. He joined the USA National Team in 2001 and was on the 2001 USA team that won the first gold at the World University Games. He played 11 years for the USA National Team and was an alternate for the 2004/2008 Olympic Games before making the 2012 team for London which finished 5th. He helped the USA to a 2012 silver medal at the World League, after winning gold at 2003 and 2005 NORCECA Games as part of 140 lifetime USA matches. He played professionally overseas for 14 years overseas before retiring in 2014, winning the FIVB Grand Champions Cup. His father Bill played for the USA National team, his mother Elvira played for the Philippines, and sister Joy set Long Beach State to the 1993 NCAA title. David is founder and director of the American Volleyball Academy in Malaysia where he lives with his wife Lana and two children.
