Annett Buckner Davis, 2026
She was the National HS Player of the Year at St. Anthony in Long Beach. She was then the 1991 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in when she started and helped UCLA to the NCAA title over Long Beach. The Collegiate All-American and 4-year starter was Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1994, All-American and All-Tournament when she led the Bruins to the NCAA finals. She was a 1994 Honda Award finalist. She played professionally in Greece before turning to beach. She and partner Jenny Johnson Jordan were 5th at the 2000 Sydney Olympics as the first African-American team in history, and she won 11 beach titles in her career. She was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015. The 5-11 hitter was elected to the California Beach HOF in 2022. Currently she is the head indoor and beach coach (conference co-coach of the year) as well as Senior Administrator at The Master’s University in Santa Clarita. She was also the AVCA Regional Coach of the Year. The mother of two has a daughter playing VB at Baylor, son Mya, and husband Byron, a former American swimming record holder.
