Krista Vansant Hendrickson, 2025

She was a standout HS player at Redlands East Valley HS where she led her team to three CIF titles and won the Gatorade State Player of the Year honors and was the number one national recruit. She went to Washington where she was a multi-time All-American career, winning Pac-12 Player of the Year twice, and became the first Washington player to be AVCA & ESPNW National Player of the Year in 2013 when she led Washington to the NCAA Volley Four. The 6-2 outside hitter twice won the Honda Award in 2013 and 2014 as the nation’s top volleyball player. She was also the Pac-12 Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2014. She was MVP and best outside hitter internationally at the 2015 Pan-American Cup for the USA gold medal winning team. She also helped the USA capture gold at the 2015 NORCECA Championships. She played professionally in Switzerland and was the alternate for the 2016 Rio Olympics before retiring to go into coaching. She coached in the Big 10 at Indiana and Illinois, before returning to Washington in 2025. Her number 16 college jersey was retired in 2017, and she was inducted in the Husky Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. Hendrickson was an AVCA Thirty Under 30 recipient in 2024, for rising leaders in the sport. She married Husky baseball player Duncan Hendrickson and they have one young son.
