Charlie Jackson, 2024

Charlie has done it all in volleyball from playing to coaching to leadership, and is invaluable today in supporting various USAV, college, club and high school projects with his business and software ex-pertise. He finished a UCLA undergraduate de-gree, while competing in rowing and soccer, a Master’s from San Diego State, plus a linguistics degree from UC San Diego with a spe- cialty in software development. He began playing indoor and beach volleyball later in life, starting with intramurals in the Marine Corp. He won two beach medals at the 1994 World Master Games in four-man (gold) and two-man (silver). He owned and operated the national equip-ment store VolleyHut.com for over 20 years, and did the same managing and coaching at Epic Volleyball Club.

He has both a son and daughter that competed in the NCAA Tournament for UCLA, with his son winning two titles (and now is CIF championship coach at Poway where Charlie has been a volunteer coach). His grand-son was UCLA’s men’s volleyball manager for the 2023

NCAA title team. He has served on the board of Star-lings Volleyball, USA Volleyball, and was the Assistant
Leader for the 2000 Sydney Olympics USA Beach team.
