David Lee, 2022

He is a 6-8 talented middle blocker that started his volleyball career as an All-CIF player Granite HS in El Cajon, then became a college standout and two-time All-American at Long Beach State. He helped the 49ers to the 2004 NCAA Finals, after being the leading conference hitter in 2003. He then turned to a 12-year stint on the USA National Team. He became a rare three-time USA Olympian, winning gold in 2008 in Beijing and bronze in 2016 in Rio around also playing on the 2012 London team. He was team captain when the USA won the 2015 FIVB World Cup. He won World League titles in 2008 and 2014 and in 2014 he was voted as ‘Best Blocker’ during the season. He also won NORCECA titles in 2007 and 2012. He retired indoors internationally after the 2016 Olympics, but played and won a country title with Argentina. He then played on the AVP Tour with 2021 SCIVBHOFer Reid Priddy, and was the 2019 AVP Newcomer of the Year. He won his first pro event in Atlantic City in July, 2022. He was inducted into the Long Beach State Athletics HOF in 2018. He is listed in the all-time Granite HS alumni along with auto racing driver Jimmy Johnson.
