George Roumain, 2026
He was High School All-American and CIF champion in a dominating start at Santa Ynez HS near Santa Barbara. He had 31 kills in the CIF title winning match in 1995. SCIVBHOFer Marv Dunphy won a national recruiting battle for Pepperdine where Roumain became a three-time All-American and only the second player in AVCA history to be named National Player of the Year twice (1998 & 1999). He led the Waves to the 1998 NCAA title match and made All-Tournament. The 6-6, 250 pound outside hitter played for the USA national team from 1999-2001, including the 2000 Olympics in Sydney when he was USA National Player of the Year. Roumain is Pepperdine’s all-time leader in career kills (2,394), kills per game (6.84), points (2,739.5) and points per game (7.83). He led the nation in kills in 1999 as a senior. He was inducted in 2008 into the Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame, made the ‘Volleyball Magazine’ All- Century Team and the MPSF Conference All-Anniversary team. He played on the AVP beach tour after finishing with the USA team, winning the 2004 Huntington Beach Open with partner Jason Ring.
