Matt Fuerbringer, 2024

Matt is one of Orange County’s stand-out ath-letes as a HS All-American in both basketball and vol-leyball at Estancia HS. He was a four-time VB All-American at Stanford and the 6-7 standout was both Stanford’s Freshman and Senior Athlete of the Year. He helped the Cardi- nal to their first NCAA championship in 1997 with the block on championship point at the end of set five. He then played four-years of professional volleyball before turning to the beach. In 2013, Fuerbringer joined the USA men’s national volleyball team coaching staff and helped the team capture a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. He worked as Associate Women’s Volleyball Head Coach at Long Beach State to his wife Joy for five years until November, 2021. He and his wife founded the Team Rockstar Club where he still coaches. He went back to the USA National Team pro-gram to join SCIVBHOFer John Speraw for first 2021 Tokyo and now is his assistant again for 2024 Paris. He won eight AVP tournaments in his career with a highest ranking of #5 in the world, and was the AVP Rookie of the Year. He played beach from 1999 to 2012.
